Area dressage at Summerhouse today got off to a damp start, but at least by the time our ladies were competing the light drizzle was drying up and so it stayed all day overcast with the odd drizzly shower. The morning saw the four Prelim riders compete in rapid succession with Wendy Lappington and Monkey again pulling out all the stops to score 68.3% and come 8th in her arena. Louise Kelly Ramaer was in the arena by the spooky hedge and got 63.4%. Stephanie Swadden and Snooze overcame an overnight colic scare to achieve 64% and Jo Howse with Paulbeg Miss Miller had a slight satnav error to get a score of 59.1%.
We then had a break before the Novice competitors did their warm up class. The three who did this class all went better in the main class later although the marks from one of the judges were consistently low! In the warm up Class Anneka Storey was 3rd, Janet Stares 4th and Kim Swift 8th.
Finally the Novice results: Anneka Storey 69.1% and 4th in her section, Janet Stares 64.6%, Kim Swift 60.2% and Abigail May Evans 67.0%.
Congratulations to Kennet Vale Riding club who won today and Swindon RC who were second. Wessex Gold Aurum were seventh, just out of the rosettes and Wessex Gold Oro were 19th.
It was a lovely day but just not our day. All our horses behaved and worked well so lots to look forward to. Many thanks from all of us to Marie Kent who warmed everyone up and stood in to call for Abigail as I was at that time calling for Kim.
Not to forget Janet Schooling who did a steady individual test for 61%.
Glad this is a written report as I called seven tests today and not sure how much voice I have left :-)
