Set up in August 2011, the club was created by riders who couldn’t quite find what they wanted in other clubs. All coming from different disciplines, and different standards of riding, it was agreed that the club had to deliver something for everyone, and allow everyone the chance to shine.
BRC affiliation was awarded in January 2012, allowing the WGRC to offer their members the chance to enjoy all the benefits that BRC brings it’s members, including 3rd party insurance, National discounts and a quarterly magazine. Being Affiliated also allows the club to put forward a team for competitions within Area 9, these include dressage, show jumping, Le Trec, Showing, Hunter Trails and Eventing. Once BRC Affiliation was secured the Wessex Gold Juniors were added to the club.
Training and the quality of the trainer was a key aspect, as was the choice in venue available. It was important everyone had venues local to them, as well as a wide selection to choose from.
Training is not just about the physical aspect of riding. Seminars in mental preparation, feeding and bio mechanics of the horse are all important aspects of horse ownership and management.
Social events, talks from celebrity riders, trips to events and shows are all the nice bits that become available to members, many at discounted rates.
Our clinics are only available to our members, so we would love for you to join us.
